MS Infectious Disease and Global Health
I am an assistant professor in the Department of Infectious Disease and Global Health (IDGH) and a veterinarian scientist with board certification in anatomic pathology. I have more than a decade of experience in BSL-3 settings studying tuberculosis (TB), a disease resulting in morbidity and mortality in millions of people each year.
I bring to this program a holistic approach to understanding disease, which was fostered through my doctorate in veterinary medicine, board-certification in veterinary anatomic pathology, and PhD training in immunology and tuberculosis.
My ability to contribute to knowledge that will better the lives of TB patients and to encourage young investigators to do the same by pursuing careers in biomedical research is very important to me. The Cummings School supports my efforts on both fronts with its outstanding resources, people, and facilities (in particular the New England Biosafety Laboratory). Students in this program greatly benefit from these resources, as well as hands-on experience and close interaction with faculty mentors.
