Carolyn Talmadge, MSCourse Director, Sr. GIS Specialist, Tufts Technology Services, Tufts University
Carolyn joined the Geospatial Technology Services team within Tufts Technology Services in 2013 after graduating from Tufts School of Engineering with an M.S in Environmental Health. Carolyn received her B.S in Earth and Environmental Sciences in 2009 from Susquehanna University. Carolyn currently works as the Senior Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist and the Data Lab Manager and holds a position in Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine teaching GIS for Conservation Medicine. As the Senior GIS Specialist, Carolyn participates in several projects and grants across all schools and departments utilizing GIS, GPS, remote sensing, and web-mapping applications. Carolyn’s latest publication examines using Remote Sensing Techniques to Identify Illegal Trespass Grow Cannabis Operations in California’s Conservation Lands. Carolyn’s research interests focus on the One Health paradigm and using geospatial tools to investigate the spatial relationships between environmental health, animal health and public health issues facing us in today’s world.
