Application to Masters in Animals and Public Policy

The Dean of Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine admits applicants for each new class based on the recommendations of the MAPP Admissions Committee. The committee carefully reviews applications and selects those applicants considered most capable of excelling in the master's program.

Application Requirements

Prerequisites:

All applicants are required to have earned a bachelor’s degree at a regionally accredited and to have one year (two semesters) of college level biology. Applicants should contact the Office of Admissions if they have any questions about what course work meets the biology prerequisite.

Applicants to the MAPP program must submit the following materials by one of these deadlines: February 1 and April 3.

If openings exist after May 1, applications will be considered on a rolling basis until the class is full.

Application Fee

A nonrefundable application fee of $70, payable by credit card, must accompany the online application.

Academic Transcripts

Official transcripts are required from all colleges and universities you have attended. This includes separate official transcripts for all foreign exchange or semester abroad programs, and transfer credit from other institutions that appears on your primary transcript.

If you are currently enrolled in an academic program, please submit an official transcript of the work you have completed to date. When additional grades become available, please submit an updated transcript.

Standardized Test (Optional)

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is not required, though applicants who wish to submit their official scores are welcome to do so. The Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine GRE recipient code is 3893.  Scores are valid for five years.  Additional information can be obtained on the GRE website.

Letters of Evaluation

Three letters of evaluation, one from each of the following areas:

  • A faculty member in your major field of study
  • A professional colleague or employer
  • A faculty member or professional colleague

Applicants from Foreign Countries

In addition to all of the aforementioned application requirements, foreign applicants must also submit the following:

  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended, in their original language
  • Attested English translations of all transcripts, if applicable
  • Test results for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) if their native language is not English. Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine recipient code for the TOEFL is 3499.
