Hails from Rhode Island
B.S. in Health Sciences
Franklin Pierce University, 2020
Hello everyone, my name is Morgan Candon, and I am from Warwick, Rhode Island. I attended Franklin Pierce University and earned my bachelor’s degree in health sciences this May (virtually) with minors in chemistry, Spanish, and healthcare administration. I currently work as an EMT in Dartmouth, Massachusetts for a private company, as well as a sales associate at a Michaels craft store. Before this program I was finishing my undergraduate degree and working two part-time jobs. I began my work as an EMT two years ago in order to gain patient contact hours, for physician’s assistant (PA) school which is my goal after completing the MS-IDGH program. What intrigued me most about this program is the work I did in an undergraduate lab with c. elegans worms and their interactions with E. coli. This program will allow me to explore more infectious diseases and help to fuel my curiosity. My end career goal is to be a physician’s assistant and work for the U.S. government studying and treating infectious diseases. There is also a big interest in working with veterans who have served our country to help give back to that underserved community. I hope that this program helps to give me a competitive edge to PA school by creating a great basis of knowledge on infectious diseases and global health. I am a very outgoing person who loves to be around friends, go for walks, and play any kind of sports. I am a big crafter and enjoy doing many different projects at once to keep me busy. I have a 12-year-old puppy named Gus who is a cockapoo and loves to cuddle. I cannot wait to meet you all very soon and learn beside you!
