Hails from Maine
B.S. in Biomedical Science
University of New Hampshire, 2020
My name is Maggie-Elizabeth Hathaway. I graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science. I first became interested in infectious diseases during a study abroad program in South Africa in 2018. During my time in South Africa, I shadowed wildlife veterinarians and microbiologists. After returning from South Africa, I became an intern at the Center for Wildlife, where I gained more experience working with animals and learning about zoonosis. The MS-IDGH program will help me gain more laboratory experience. My career goal is to work for the CDC, researching and surveying zoonotic diseases. My outside interests include reading, hiking, and traveling. I have a cat named Romeo, and I recently adopted a puppy named Chance. I am excited to start the MS-IDGH program and join the Tufts community!
