Hails from New Hampshire
University of Rhode Island, 2019
Hello! My name is Hannah Buss. I was born and raised in New Hampshire. I obtained my undergraduate degree in animal science at the University of Rhode Island. My
senior year, I volunteered with Laura Thompson at Mystic Aquarium, assisting her research by running ELISA assays for brucellosis in aquaria samples and writing grant proposals. After graduating in May 2019, I began working at Charles River Laboratories as a technologist. I collected numerous biopsies from a variety of rodents, mentored new hires, and eventually became a certified ALAT. The MS-IDGH program focuses on laboratory work and pertinent global health problems, providing key skills to be successful in the field. My professional goals include working for the CDC or a biopharma company aiding in infectious disease research helping with future threats. Aside from the program, I enjoy figure skating and spending time with family and my two cats.
