My name is Hailey Wiper, and I grew up in Eugene, Oregon. As a child, I spent my time outside, exploring the fields and creeks around my house. By high school, I was a theatre geek, and spent most of my time inside under stage lights. When it came time to pick a college, I chose to return to Biology and spend my days outside again. I attended Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California, where I studied Biology, Global Studies, and French. During my time in Santa Barbara, I volunteered at the local marine rescue center. This experience solidified my commitment to both environmental health and veterinary medicine. After college, I continued with marine animals with a rescue fellowship at the Mystic Aquarium. After the MCM, I plan on becoming a veterinarian, and I intend to work on ecosystem climate resiliency projects.
