College of Saint Rose, Criminal Justice, 2014
M.S. in Animals and Public Policy, Tufts University, 2017

Current Position:

Communications Associate, Alley Cat Rescue

What were you doing before entering the MAPP program?
I was an assistant at a law firm in Albany county and volunteered at my local animal shelter.

What aspects of MAPP led to your decision to join the program?
I have always been interested in public policy and loved the focus of animal rights issues into public policy. I was actually planning on going into law school before I saw this program but was drawn to the focus on animal advocacy and the fact that the program was only a year!

Interests in and experience with animals
I have volunteered at my local animal rescue group as a Clinic Coordinator, I have volunteered for In Defense of Animals as a blogger. I also have two cute and crazy cats at home!
I am interested most in the fight to end animal testing and have worked in this area before but I am interested in many different forms of animal advocacy.

What are your outside interests?
I like to hike, read books and being outside in general.

Number of pets? What?
I have two cats, Toothless and Boots. Toothless does have teeth, he just looks almost exactly like the dragon in How to Train Your Dragon.
