Current Position:
Assistant Director, Ocean Alliance

What were you doing before entering the Masters in Animals and Public Policy program?
Account Director, Talent Works International. I have been working in advertising account management for the past 13 years. I have managed many client accounts in recruitment, retail, real estate, and B2B Industries. I have developed advertising strategies to successfully launch new brands, as well as established brands, across multiple channels in a number of national and global markets. In my former role at Talent Works International, I helped my clients build employer brands to attract and retain top talent.

What aspects of MAPP led to your decision to join the program?
I really liked that the MAPP program gave students the opportunity to learn from other successful professionals via seminars and exploring interests while preparing you with the communication and reasoning skills needed.

Interests in and experience with animals
I really love working with animals in my community. I currently volunteer at Northeast Animal Shelter where I help with everything from cleaning kennels to walking dogs and giving baths. It’s a lot of work, but the puppy cuddles are so rewarding. I am also on the newly formed Animal Advisory Committee for the City of Gloucester. We are reviewing all animal ordinances for the city of Gloucester and focusing on developing coyote research strategies and a coyote management plan. We recently launched a Facebook page and a website where we can keep citizens educated on animal policies and collect coyote sighting submissions.
